American truckers launched the People’s Convoy on February 23rd, 2022. This is a “peaceful and unified transcontinental movement”, according to their official press release. They departed from the Adelanto Stadium in California, and they will end on March 5th, near the Capital Beltway, in Washington, D.C.
This convoy was created in response to the Canadian trucker convoy, and both were started in response to the unconstitutional COVID-19 mandates on truckers and many other professions.
The convoy consists of not just truckers, but "moms, students, nurses, doctors, investors, county workers, teachers, cowboys, loggers, engineers, sanitation workers, professors, cashiers, flight attendant, pilots, sales reps, and physical therapists."
The website states:
“We demand the Declaration of National Emergency Concerning the COVID-19 Pandemic be lifted immediately and our cherished Constitution reign supreme.”
Anthony Cabassa, a journalist with El American, is following the convoy the whole way. You can follow along with him on Instagram.
In an interview with Red Liberty Media, he said,
“The atmosphere has been very uplifting, we have thousands of people showing up, not just for The People’s Convoy, but also on overpasses along the way. We pass than no less than 500-600 overpasses, and every single one that we’ve crossed has had supporters. It’s very uplifting for sure. Very peaceful and calm and coordinated. A lot of safety and law enforcement presence.”
He mentioned it is surprising the mainstream media is not covering this historic event.
“They’re very focused on the global conflicts…the corporate media has not touched too much on what’s happening. With it being this big, and making history for how far they’ve travelled, it just seems like the mainstream media is staying away from the story.”
After the convoy reaches the Capital Beltway on Saturday evening, they will make their way to the Virginia Motor Speedway for a rally on Sunday, March 6th.
They have no intentions of going into the nation’s capital.
