AOC took to Instagram Live this week to tell Latinos, who are now voting Republican, they are victims of misinformation online.
“Latinos tenemos familia que no sabe todos los reglas, right? Necesitamos hablar con ellos. We all, as Latinos we have family that maybe they speak Spanish and they don’t know the dates, maybe they don’t know the rules. There’s also a lot of people who don't realize this, there's a massive Spanish language misinformation campaign right now going on online.
AOCs’ initial fumbling in Spanish resorted to English as she began to explain why recent polls show Hispanic voters favoring red. From March 2-7, the Wall Street Journal conducted a poll by the firms Impact Research and Fabrizio, Lee & Associates and discovered the following.
“The survey also found Republicans making gains among minority groups” wrote Michael C. Bender of the WSJ. “By 9 percentage points, Hispanic voters in the new poll said they would back a Republican candidate for Congress over a Democrat. The two parties had been tied among Hispanic voters in the Journal’s survey in November.”
Ocasio-Cortez's Live was released the same week Mayra Flores won her 34th congressional district race in South Texas. Flores is the first Republican Mexican woman ever to flip South Texas.
Rep. Ryan Guill, a Democratic legislator also in the state of Texas, left the democratic party in May for the Republican Party. "Friends, something is happening in South Texas, and many of us are waking up to the fact that the values of those in Washington, D.C., are not our values, not the values of most Texans," noted Guillen as he announced the move.
The values that Guillen left behind are heavily endorsed by Democratic Socialist AOC. Values such as supporting the LGBTQ’s transformation of the Spanish language to conform inclusive gender-neutral or nonbinary alternative to Latino or Latina also known as “Latinx”. Ironically, although the inclusive language is rampant on her twitter account, “Latinx” was nowhere to be found in her clip.
This tweet may also reveal what kinds of ads were published within the Spanish community during election time via mainstream media.
AOC continues, “And when people are talking about how Latinos votes are shifting a little bit, because of enormous amounts of misinformation that are going on. So, if you are Latino or Latina, I want you to step up too. I want you to talk to your family. I want you to talk to your Spanish speaking family and check in and make sure that that stuff hasn’t gotten through to them because there’s a lot of it.”
As Ocasio-Cortez continues to claim Spanish Speaking Latinos are prone to give in to “misinformation” online, recently a group tied to George Soros paid $60 million for 18 Spanish-language radio stations across 10 U.S. cities.
"Latinos are more and more becoming swing voters.… They’re a swing vote that we’re going to have to fight for,’’ says Democrat pollster John Anzalone.
According to AOC and Soros, when citizens speak to their Spanish speaking families about voting Democrat whose presence online is evidently nonexistent and whose policies go against traditional Hispanic values, let them not forget to turn on the radio.
