AOC Confronted at Town Hall Meeting

Two protestors berated New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during a town hall meeting in the Bronx yesterday. The constituents called her “a coward” and accused her of “playing with their lives” due to her advocacy toward aiding Ukraine in its war with Russia.

“You’re voting to start a nuclear war with Russia and China. Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens?” a protestor said.

Joined by a second protestor the rant continued,

“You’re a coward. You’re a progressive socialist,” the second protestor, now identified as Jose Vega, said.

Both protestors made reference to Tulsi Gabbard who recently left the Democratic party.

“Tulsi Gabbard has shown guts where you’ve shown cowardice. I believed in you and you became the very thing you sought to fight against,” Vega said.

Vega went on to ask Ocasio-Cortez to denounce the Democratic party.

During the same meeting, a former firefighter asked Ocasio-Cortez about the border crisis and the flood of migrants. He said that 95% of migrants are ineligible for asylum because they are not persecuted, they are “economic migrants,” the New York Post reported.

However, Ocasio-Cortez insisted the seeking of asylum was legal.

“It’s legal to seek asylum at the United States border. It’s legal. It’s legal. It’s legal to claim asylum,” Ocasio-Cortez said, “When we talk about undocumented people, my priority is about opening legal pathways to citizenship. And making sure they are open.”

So far Ocasio-Cortez’s only comment on the town hall meeting has been a response to a Tweet by Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.

Instead of discussing the town hall topics further, Ocasio-Cortez went viral mocking a Fox News host for his Taco Bell lunch.
