Amanda Ensing, is a Puerto Rican beauty influencer. She's been a beauty vlogger on YouTube since 2012. She has more than one million followers on YouTube and Instagram, where she posts her outfits, makeup looks, travel experiences, and latest hairstyles.
Ensing is no stranger to controversy. Two months ago, she received backlash from her following base when she revealed in a YouTube video that she voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 Presidential election.
Last Christmas Ensing posted a family photo on Instagram, sporting Trump gear, "How to be a rebel in 2020: Love God, Love your country, & Think for yourself, "she captioned the photo. Left-leaning followers attacked the beauty vlogger in the comments section.
Earlier this weekend, Ensing found herself facing backlash yet again for her outspoken conservative and political views. Sephora, the multinational retailer of personal care and beauty products, sponsored Ensing's most recent YouTube video via Rewardstyle. Sephora later asked for the video to be removed hours after it was approved to be posted.
Sephora, had responded to boycott cries from left-leaning clients that ultimately led to them canceling all future partnerships with the beauty influencer.
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. We were made aware that Amanda Ensing, an influencer contracted through one of our external vendors’ campaigns, recently shared content on social media that is not aligned with Sephora’s values around inclusivity. As soon as we were informed, we made the decision to cease all programming with Amanda and will not be engaging her for future partnerships,” Sephora wrote in response to an outraged liberal activist.
After the U.S. Capitol storming on January 6, Ensing took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the matter. Ensing addressed the event amply and has been met with heated backlash from fellow beauty influencers and her following base ever since.
On Friday night, Ensing tweeted, in response to Courtney Holland’s ( a political conservative activist ) tweet, that her legal team has asked the Sephora company “for more information as to why they are ceasing the relationship.”
